Born in Scotland, Simon began singing with Clare College Choir in Cambridge, where he studied French and Spanish, then went on to study music theatre at the Royal Academy of Music. He worked across Europe as an actor and singer, highlights being a French-language production of Le Petit Prince and London productions of Sondheim’s Anyone Can Whistle and Passion. Joining the Swingle Singers offered a unique opportunity to work in the group’s trademark jazz idiom and the chance to perform Berio’s Sinfonia under Antonio Pappano. In Australia, Simon’s work is equally diverse, encompassing contemporary work with the Song Company, early music with the ABO, concert stagings of operas with SSO and MSO, and a 2014 national tour as a featured vocalist in the ACO’s Timeline.
